Saint Louis Science Center 

The Saint Louis Science Center in St. Louis, Missouri is a public museum dedicated to science and technology. It is one of the four principal museums in the St. Louis Zoo-Museum District and is located in Forest Park.

History

The Saint Louis Science Center opened on December 1, 1963, and was originally known as the Metropolitan Science Center. The original building was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, who also designed the World Trade Center in New York City. The science center was originally part of the St. Louis Zoo, but became an independent institution in 1991.

Today, the Saint Louis Science Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive science centers in the United States. It houses over 700 hands-on exhibits, making it one of the nation’s top destinations for interactive science education.

Exhibits

The Saint Louis Science Center has a wide variety of exhibits covering many different topics in science and technology. Some of the most popular exhibits include the Discovery Room, where visitors can learn about the science of everyday life; the Planetarium, where visitors can learn about the night sky; and the James S. McDonnell Planetarium, which is one of the largest planetariums in the world.

The Saint Louis Science Center also has a variety of special exhibitions throughout the year. Recent exhibitions have included the Body Worlds: Pulse exhibition, which featured human bodies preserved through plastination; and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, which brought the world of Harry Potter to life with interactive exhibits and displays.

In addition to its many exhibits, the Saint Louis Science Center also has a number of amenities for visitors to enjoy. The center has a café and a gift shop, as well as a number of classrooms and meeting spaces. The center also has an IMAX theater, which shows educational films on a variety of topics.
